John was the kind of person who left an impression on everyone he met—a beloved high school teacher, dedicated coach, and standout Western Michigan collegiate athlete, celebrated for his 1971 national conference victory. His determination, generosity, and passion shaped countless lives. Sorting and staging John’s well‑loved belongings was both a privilege and a window into the pursuits that brought him joy. Through this collection, we were able to glimpse the adventures, craftsmanship, and curiosity that defined him. Gingerly Away is proudly woman-owned and operated by trusted family members, each bringing their own strengths and dedication to the business.At the core is Tamara’s father, Bob Gmerek, a retired veteran whose service and integrity continue to inspire the heart of Gingerly Away. Bob commits to each sale from start to finish. Helping with staging, setup, and day-before preparations. On sale days, he works closely with buyers, offering guidance and forming genuine connections with customers. His warm presence and tireless work ethic ensure that every sale runs smoothly, and he never leaves until the job is done. Bob’s dedication and reliability are a cornerstone of the Gingerly Away experience.
Also essential to the team is Tamara’s aunt, Judy Adamski, who puts in long hours meticulously sifting through every item to ensure nothing is overlooked. She sorts, stacks, and showcases each piece with care and precision. Judy is the most loyal and hardest-working person Tamara can count on, playing a vital role in keeping their system running smoothly.
Tamara’s son, Vinny Bogovican, also assists with estate sales whenever needed. A strong collegiate dual athlete, Vinny brings the muscle and energy to help with heavy lifting, setup, and clean-outs, ensuring each sale is organized, efficient, and welcoming. His presence reflects the next generation’s commitment to the values of hard work, respect, and community.
